Christina Lake Health-Care Auxiliary was formed over 50 years ago. Their mission is to raise funds for the care and comfort of patients in Health-Care Facilities: Boundary Hospital and its extended care wing Hardy View Lodge, Boundary Lodge (both in Grand Forks); Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (Trail).
In 2013, The Christina Lake Health-Care Auxiliary donated: $2500 to KBRH for a Digital Mammography machine; $1000 scholarship to Grand Forks Senior Secondary School; $500 to the Selkirk College bursary fund; $140 to Hardy View Lodge for patient comfort items; and $200 to Christina Lake Firefighters Society for their Christmas Food Hamper Fund.
Fundraising activities have included Book Sales, Fall/Christmas Tea & Homecoming Bake Sale, annual Christmas Dinner where donations of food are gathered for the Fire Department.
Members also participate in Hospice sponsored works including friendly visits, volunteer driving and palliative care-giving.
They have also participated in creating “Rip ‘n’ Roll” sheets bandage wraps with residents at Boundary Lodge once a month (rolled wraps go to “Canadians Feeding People”, a charity sponsored by the Catholic Church in Penticton)
