Christina Lake Fire Rescue is a paid-on-call fire department operated by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB). The department combines a core daytime staffing component with a paid-on-call response model and is staffed by a full-time Fire Chief, full-time Deputy Chief, part-time administrative support, two full-time Work Experience Firefighters, and a dedicated team of paid-on-call officers and firefighters who live/work within the community.
Operating from a single fire station centrally located on Swanson Road, Christina Lake Fire Rescue provides fire suppression, medical first response, rescue services, marine response, and wildland/interface firefighting to residents and visitors withing the Christina Lake Fire Protection Area.
The protection area roughly extends from the first Highway 3 snow gates east of town, up along West Lake Drive and East Lake Drive (up to the campground), south to the Canada–United States border, and west to the Gilpin Grasslands.
