Christina Lake Marina

Located ideally for vacationers, campers, and boaters, looking for some recreationally exciting memories on the warmest 20 kilometre, tree line lake in Western Canada. 

Equipment offered through the Marina is pontoon boats, water sport boats, and fishing boats, as well as canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards, which is any type of equipment which is everything you need to making your day memorable as possible. Propane, food, and gas are all available through the Marina as well. 

Let’s not forget about the shopping, dining, and family friendly environment, all available at the Christina Lake Marina!

This beautiful hand crafted home is located at the South end of Christina Lake, and is on a large, treed secluded lot, surrounded by attractions such as the Public Beach, baseball diamonds, tennis and pickle ball courts, children parks, basketball hoops, and within minutes away from food and beverages, ice cream, personal shopping, and the Christina Lake Welcome Center.

Woodnote Acres

I purchased Woodnote Acres several years ago with the hope of making an affordable, peaceful sanctuary – a home away from home – for families, including my own, to stay in while they enjoy all that Christina Lake life 
has to offer.

There are 8.8 acres of land making this a very quiet, secluded spot, and a peaceful retreat after a long and busy day at the lake (1 mile to public beach), golf course (a few minutes drive), or exploring one of the many local hiking/biking trails. For the wildlife enthusiasts, white-tailed deer and wild turkeys are regulars to Woodnote Acres, among other winged and four legged friends.

Little Lakers Learning Centre

Toddlers from 30 months up to 5 years old qualify for care in this facility. Some exceptions can be made. On Fridays children under the age of 6 who are currently in kindergarten can take advantage of our special programs

Ritchie Beach

Ritchie beach is located at the end of Ritchie Road, coming off of Johnson Road, also off of Hwy #3.   Ritchie Beach is a small, sandy, and secluded beach with deeper swimming water, and the perfect sunset scenery.

Kingsley Beach

Kingsley beach is a historical area, at the end of Kingsley Road, just off of Hwy #3, once housing the original Christina Lake Motel and Restaurant and  Dance Pavilion, a popular summer retreat spot in the 1900’s which brought in several visitors from all over the Boundary and the Kootenays for live music and dancing.  Now a part of our rich history, bringing generations of families here to relive their summertime memories and create new ones.

CHRISTINA LAKE GOLF CLUB RESTAURANT

Enjoy a meal or refreshment on the large patio overlooking the golf course. Open 11-7 early season and 8-8 after the May long weekend.

Christina Creek

Christina Creek makes for a nice swim spot; meander along Christina Creek Trail, with shady areas, a great escape on those hot summer days with beautiful scenic views , immersed among the tall ponderosa pines and the mountains opening up to the valley a wonderful area to swim, float, kayak or canoe and connect with nature.

Christina Lake Elementary School

Christina Lake Elementary School provides instruction to students from kindergarten to Grade 7. With its small class sizes and dedicated staff, CLES offers an excellent academic curriculum rounded out with art, drama and athletics programs. The school is part of School District 51, and as such has recently converted to a four day school week, in which the school week, with slightly extended hours, runs from Monday to Thursday, and weekends are from Friday to Sunday. The school has six classrooms, a gymnasium, library, computer centre, staff room, office and playground.

Everyone is always invited to The Christina Lake Homecoming Summerfest in Celebration of our beautiful community of Christina Lake. The Homecoming Summerfest has become a tradition here in Christina Lake, a place where memories are shared and new ones are made. It’s a time for all, past and present, near or far, to unify in our love for “The Lake”. It’s a time for our community, to come together to celebrate our regions talents, showcase our businesses and bring awareness to our community services and organizations.

Beginning with a community by donation breakfast hosted by The Community Hall Association from 8-11am, followed by a Market, showcasing an array of vendors, from art, to jewelry, indigenous art, wood carvings and turnings, local produce, and baking to art demos, workshops, history displays, children’s games, organizations and businesses , bringing awareness, and so much more. Live performances happening all day, showcasing our regions impressive talents! After the market festivities move to The Christina Lake Provincial Beach on Park Road, enter our Sandcastle competition, take a relaxing swim, lay back on your floatie and enjoy the array of performers who will be showcased throughout the evening. From our local musicians and dancers, to regional talents, that will sure to impress! Join in the community by donation BBQ hosted by The Christina Lake Fire Fighters Society. WILDLIFE IN CHRISTINA LAKE

Christina Lake and the Boundary area are abundant with wildlife. The Grasslands in the Gilpin area have a large herds of Mountain Sheep, mule and whitetail deer. A walk along the gorge section of the Trans Canada Trail is sure to have the local marmots investigating your presence. As we are a rural community it is very common to see whitetail deer in the middle of developed areas year round. Elk can be found at higher elevations along with the more elusive moose. You’ll also find everything from squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits to bears and cougars.

Our motto of “keeping wildlife wild – and communities safe” underscores our belief that if we can keep wildlife living in the wild we can, in turn, make our communities safer for us and at the same time keep wildlife from coming to harm.

BIRD WATCHING AT CHRISTINA LAKE

Bird watching at Christina Lake varies considerably over the year, with spring and summer being the most rewarding. The best place is in the Nature Park at the southeast end of the lake. The many trails throughout the park allow you to quietly approach the birds both in the woods and along the shore.

Another area that is home to a variety of birds is on the trail along the east side of Christina Creek, accessible from Highway #3 where it crosses the creek. During the spring and summer, you can expect to see as many as 73 species with another 24 during the spring and fall migrations. There are also 29 additional species of casual non-breeding birds, which may be sighted at any time.

Familiar sights along the shorelines include ducks, herons, and loons. Several species of eagles, hawks and falcons reside here. Wild turkeys roam freely, along with grouse, quail and other ground birds. It is common to see Bald Eagles soaring above the pine trees along the banks of the Kettle River. A walk along one of our many trails will reveal several species of woodpeckers, flickers, blue jays, whiskey jacks, magpies and a host of song birds; finch, sparrows, grosbeaks, bluebirds, nuthatches and more. If you walk quietly to the shores of the Community Park you will spot mallard and wood ducks, grebes, gold eyes and butterballs. To the quieter north end of the lake you will hear the longing cry of loons.

GLADSTONE (TEXAS CREEK) PROVINCIAL PARK

Texas point; also known as Gladstone Provincial Park and Campground. They have a nice public access beach area right on the lake. The beaches are more secluded, almost like you claim your own portion of the beach for your time there. On the south side of the beach, there are dog-friendly spots, which is good for the dog lovers.

CHRISTINA LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK

*UPDATE*

The Provincial Park Beach is now wheelchair accessible thanks to our brand new mobility-mat! The mat has been rolled out and will be in place through to the end of September. The chair can be accessed during that time by visiting the Christina Lake Visitor Centre. To ensure the safety of the mobi-chair users a care aid must be in attendance and a life jacket worn. A waiver must be signed and a member of the tourism staff will accompany the user’s to the beach to assist with chair setup, a time for drop off determined.

Bring your family to the sunny Provincial Park Beach at the south end of Christina Lake where they can relax on the sand, picnic using the tables, and gaze out onto the calm blue waters. There’s plenty of sand and space along the beach to stretch out your towels, and the warm water invites swimming or just splashing around! There are washrooms and water on site, so you can stay for a while or stay all day.

This intimate provincial park features a big, beautiful beach that stretches almost a thousand feet along the shore. Picnic tables are handily located at the top of the sandy area next to a shady grove of trees. Pick your ideal location for enjoying the sun or hanging out in the shade.

The shallow water stretches out a good distance, with good wading and play areas for small children. Floats and paddleboards can be launched to explore the lake, or for taking a nice long float in the sunshine.

As seen from the south beach, Christina Lake gently folds into lush, forested slopes to the north. A slight bend in the lake means that less than half is seen, but this also creates the picturesque effect of overlapping hillsides fading into the distance. The continuing water invites exploration of the north end by boat and by hiking the Deer Point Trail.

Summer days means lots of sunshine and warm water for perfect family adventures at the Christina Lake Provincial Park Beach. Let loose your imagination on sand castles and moats,
or relax and soak up the sun; taking an occasional refreshing plunge into the clean waters to truly experience the magic of Christina Lake. This is our most accessible beach and features plenty of picnic tables, volleyball net, drinking fountain and flush toilets. Turn west off Highway #3 onto West Lake Drive then turn right at Park Road.
