Christina Lake has several playgrounds for kids to enjoy. Situated on Park Road adjacent to the tennis courts and across the street from the ball diamond, the Christina Lake Community Playground has plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained including a tire set, a new adventure center and ample space to run around, in a fenced area for safety.
There is also a newly developed a Bike Pump Park for those budding biking enthusiasts, as well as an outdoor exercise park and Pickle Ball Courts. Two blocks away at 49 West Lake Drive, the Christina Lake Elementary School also has a new adventure center, with lots of open space for soccer and outdoor fun.
Behind the Welcome Centre, adjacent the nature park, just off of Hwy #3, is a small playground with slide and swing, perfect for a quick play and pit stop along your travels.

have been building the membership and agreeing materials such as a reader board (speed monitor) and display material, they have helped with recruitment and with assisting the RCMP by being additional eyes and ears for the community. Their main focus is during the months of July and August when patrols are undertaken at night by pairs of volunteers. A reader board is used during the year to monitor drivers rate of speed in areas such as the school and park zones. Please contact Citizens on Patrol if you are interested in volunteering.

The Christina Lake Waterfront Property Owners Society are an incorporated society in British Columbia, formed in 2010.
The Christina Lake Waterfront Property Owners Society will aim to:
1. Be a strong and united voice to ensure that our rights be preserved and respected when dealing with government at all levels.
2. Work constructively with government and other local groups to represent our views.
3. Communicate interactively with members about important and upcoming issues relevant to waterfront owners.
4. Provide timely discussions and the ability for all members to voice opinions on topics of interest in order to develop unified positions on issues.
The Christina Lake Waterfront Property Owners Society Board members have provided input in the preparation of letters sent to our local MLA and the BC Minister of the Environment concerning issues of significance to our members, the most of important of which is the invasive species, Eurasian Water Milfoil. They are working closely with our regional district to explore all reasonable, legal and cost-effective methods to help mitigate the impact of this nuisance at Christina Lake. There board is fully supportive of the work by the Christina Lake Stewardship Society in providing information to local and visiting boaters concerning the potential dangers of Zebra/Quagga mussels. There board feels that this issue needs to be raised on the radar of our local federal member of parliament and the federal ministry of the environment and we will be working to that end.
The Christina Lake Waterfront Property Owners Society continues to solicit membership to their society within the Christina Lake Waterfront Owners’ group. They presently have two openings on their board, if you are interested in joining the board, please contact or visit their website.

Christina Lake is located half way across the southern edge of the province, just north of the British Columbia-Washington border. It is considered part of the Boundary Country, the area of the province nestled between the Okanagan Valley and West Kootenay Valley regions; geographically defined by the Kettle River Valley and the Monashee Mountains.
Location and climate are two of the main attractions of Christina Lake. Clear mountain-fed streams, clean lakes and hectares of wilderness create plentiful opportunities for recreation. Plenty of sunshine, four full seasons, and mild temperatures make Christina Lake an ideal environment for those who love the outdoors. Christina Lake has the distinction of being the warmest tree lined lake in Canada due to hot springs deep in the lake. Christina Lake is a community with many assets. An unincorporated village with little government infrastructure, it has risen to become a home for some, and a destination for many. Years of volunteer work by local residents have created a community which is enlightened on environmental and social concerns, and yet maintains an intrinsically small-town quality which is cherished by locals and visitors alike. These efforts have established a community whose assets are varied, yet cohesive; historical yet progressive.
Christina Lake Tourism Society was established in 2010 and in 2013 and received the official designation as an official ‘Visitor Information Centre’ allowing specialized signage, employee training and materials for our Visitor Information Desk that is housed in the Christina Living Arts Centre, otherwise known as the Welcome Centre.
The Society aims to improve its capacity for ‘inbound marketing’. This refers to the process of reaching new visitors through the internet, now seen as the key marketing approach for tourism. As well as a collaborative approach to marketing and achieving goals set out in our strategic plan. Working towards strong partnerships within our community and region The Christina Lake Tourism Society Tourism Society also operates Tina’s Trading Post, offering Christina Lake Branded merchandise. Visitors have the opportunity to take a picture of themselves ‘jumping off the bridge’, a three-dimensional floor painting of a wooden trestle bridge over Cascade Gorge, celebrating our area’s history.
Tourism is one of the most effective ways of redistributing wealth, by moving money into local economies from other parts of the province, country and internationally. It brings income into a community that would otherwise not be earned.
Increased Tourism provides economic benefits to our Business Community on all levels. Working collectively benefits the entire region and creates a vital community and destination for visitors.
To assist all tourism related businesses in Christina Lake to plan, market, and attract new customers.
Through the development of a Tourism Plan, the CLTS will include, but not be limited to, these four areas:
Building on the strengths of existing community groups; CLTS will help the business community increase its influence region-wide; will strengthen the capacity of businesses; and will foster a strong business climate, a healthy quality of life, sustainable community development and increased levels of tourism. For tourism to be sustainable, it is most effective if its development is in line with the needs of the local community. To work towards this goal, the impacts of tourism on the local community will be monitored on a regular basis.
Socially, environmentally and fiscally responsible; supportive of healthy families, strong communities and of the pioneering spirit of our residents; promoters of collaboration, partnerships and accessibility; inclusive; transparent and friendly.
The Christina Lake Stewardship Society (CLSS) is a non-profit charitable organization that was established in January of 2001 (Committee Est. 1994). The mandate of the Society is to maintain the quality and health of the Christina Lake Watershed.
The CLSS office is located in the Christina Lake Living Arts Center (Welcome Centre). There is an interpretive gallery as well as the public resource library that has many reports, maps and data for the Christina lake Watershed. The gallery contains various wildlife and nature themed exhibits, an area for kids to learn and colour, a beautiful mural as well as information on invasive species, area ecology and how to live and play safely around wildlife and in our environment.
CLSS keeps busy year round with community outreach and environmental education via the interpretive gallery, summer youth programs; community events such as the Annual Watershed Review and Homecoming, as well as visits to the local schools. We also work in partnership with other organizations to conduct monitoring for invasive species (including the zebra and quagga mussels and northern pike), and facilitate community events such as Lake Clean-up Day, which has occurred since 2000.
Our volunteers have contributed to all aspects of our organization including helping with special events, inventory, and organization of the gallery and office work. As well as field work such as kokanee enumerations and monitoring of our lakes and streams and helping with our native plant nursery and Solar Aquatic System plant maintenance.
The dedication of our volunteers is what allows the CLSS to make a difference in our community, and helps in the conservation of this area for future generations. Christina Lake Parks and Recreation Commission is a wonderful group of volunteers dedicated to providing recreation facilities and park ways with the stewardship of our lake and parks always forefront in the decision making process.
Christina Lake Parks and Recreation Commission arrange venue and instructors for yearly exercise programs, Christina Lake Triathlon, Children’s fitness programs. They maintain trails, parks grounds and sports areas. They have purchased and installed outside exercise equipment. They have formed several partnerships in the community including the partnership with Christina Lake Stewardship to fund the derelict dock removal as well as annual funding. Partnering also, with the Community Hall to fund exercise facilities and equipment as well as with the Christina Lake Chamber of Commerce and Fire Department to provide Childs playground at The Christina Living Arts Centre (Welcome Centre). CL REC Commission is also researching possibilities for a walking bridge over Christina Creek. They arrange for maintenance, marking, identification and publicizing area walking and bike trails.

Everyone is always invited to The Christina Lake Homecoming Summerfest in Celebration of our beautiful community of Christina Lake. The Homecoming Summerfest has become a tradition here in Christina Lake, a place where memories are shared and new ones are made. It’s a time for all, past and present, near or far, to unify in our love for “The Lake”. It’s a time for our community, to come together to celebrate our regions talents, showcase our businesses and bring awareness to our community services and organizations.
Beginning with a community by donation breakfast hosted by The Community Hall Association from 8-11am, followed by a Market, showcasing an array of vendors, from art, to jewelry, indigenous art, wood carvings and turnings, local produce, and baking to art demos, workshops, history displays, children’s games, organizations and businesses , bringing awareness, and so much more. Live performances happening all day, showcasing our regions impressive talents! After the market festivities move to The Christina Lake Provincial Beach on Park Road, enter our Sandcastle competition, take a relaxing swim, lay back on your floatie and enjoy the array of performers who will be showcased throughout the evening. From our local musicians and dancers, to regional talents, that will sure to impress! Join in the community by donation BBQ hosted by The Christina Lake Fire Fighters Society. Don’t miss the grand finale “Light Up The Lake Boat Parade” for motorized and people powered boats and floats. Christina Lake Fire Fighters Society and Christina Lake Fire Department work together to improve and support the Fire Department , its members and our community.
The Christina Lake Fire Fighters Society has up to 25 members. The main focus of the Society is to support the Fire Department who practice and train to save lives and protect property.
They are also involved in sponsoring several community events including the Community Easter Egg Hunt and sponsoring youth throughout our community for sports and academics. They lead the organization of the Halloween Fireworks and Hot Chocolate on the Beach, working in conjunction with the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary , community members and organizations to put on one of the most spectacular Fireworks display in our region! They also host the Fire Department Open House in May, raising funds and creating fire safety awareness for our community. As well as spreading joy during the Holiday Season by delivering Christmas Hampers in December. They are also constructing a new Annex building for the Fire Hall.

The Advisory Planning Commission Electoral Area ‘c’ meet regularly to review applications for development variances for building and related issues for the Advisory Planning Commission of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Area ‘c’ official Community Plan – Bylaw No. 1250 and Area ‘c’ Zoning Bylaw No. 1300 are reviewed and updated as required and prompted by the residents of Christina Lake.

Christina Gateway Community Development Association or “Gateway” was developed in 2012 with a mission to mobilize the beautiful community of Christina Lake by addressing strategic community issues in order to strengthen community life and build the framework for sustainable local economic and social development.
Gateway’s goals are to Increase intra community communication, strengthen community organizations in Christina Lake, strengthen existing businesses, develop and attract new businesses and to strengthen marketing of Christina Lake and its attributes, events and business opportunities.

Cascade Cemetery Restoration Committee is a group of dedicated individuals who are protecting and maintaining Cascade Cemetery. The oldest grave known and documented at this cemetery is Sam Swanson, his grave dates back to 1898 . Cascade Cemetery holds much history, with many of it yet to be discovered. Bev Bolduc leads this committee, researching as much as she can. Each year the responsibilities remain the same, raking , weeding etc. Every Friday morning weather permitting they show up with rakes, pruners, wheelbarrows, and energy. For about 1-2 hours they work weeding, raking.

Boundary Community Hospice Association Mission Statement: Support when you need it most.
Boundary Community Hospice Association has provided hundreds of hours volunteer “vigil” support in our two palliative care rooms, extended care and community. As well as providing education and resources around “end of life” care for our community members. A Volunteer Drivers Program has been coordinated under our Hospice Umbrella; it is a very popular program, utilized by many members.
For Hospice support; Our volunteers come in (often on short notice) to sit with individuals whom are actively dying to ensure they are not alone and provide family members much needed respite. We also have a Volunteer Drivers Program, where volunteers tackle the summits in all types of weather for community members in need of getting to medical related appointments. They travel to Trail, Castlegar, Kelowna, Penticton and within our communities as well. If interested in volunteering for the various programs like palliative care or volunteer drivers program, The Boundary Community Hospice Association welcomes your call.
